The Simpson and Central College softball squads match up in a crucial American Rivers Conference doubleheader today at Simpson College. The Storm were recently ranked 14th nationally in the new NPI system, a computer model used to determine seeding and at-large bids to the NCAA Division III Softball Championship tournament. Simpson is currently 23-3 on the season and 4-2 in ARC play.

The Dutch are ranked 21st in the NFCA Coaches Poll sitting at 17-3 on the season and on an 11-game winning streak, and are one of the top defensive teams in the country with only six errors on the season and a team ERA of just 3.05.
