Pella Historical Museums and the Tulip Time Steering Committee remind residents that Tulip Time closures will increase throughout the week. Franklin Street will remain closed between Broadway and Main until Sunday. No Parking signs are now posted in designated areas through Saturday night, May 3rd. Barricades around the festival grounds will restrict traffic starting Thursday. Slow moving traffic will occur before and after parade times.
Blankets and tarps are not allowed to be placed on curbsides until after 6am on the day of each parade May 1st through 3rd. One exception is by the information windmill, which does not allow placement of these items until after noon due to bus loading and unloading.
Parking is limited downtown and can extend for up to a mile from the square. Residents are encouraged to park in their driveways to allow more room for visitors on the streets and to consider walking downtown instead of driving. Parking locations can be found here.
Those who live in an area impacted by restricted parking, but haven’t received passes should contact Pella Historical Museums. Those with a business in the restricted area should make sure employees are made aware of the barricades and have passes in their possession prior to Thursday. The passes allow vehicles into the area but do not allow parking along streets marked with no parking signs.
Bikes, skateboards, roller blades, and hoverboards are not allowed inside the barricaded area during the Tulip Time festival. No golf carts or UTVs allowed within the barricades without a permit from Pella Historical Museums. These will only be provided for vehicles used to support Tulip Time activities.
