The Knoxville City Council will look to approve the adoption of the city’s comprehensive plan tonight.

The purpose of this plan is to provide guidance to decision makers regarding the community’s future development, with a planning horizon of 20 years and an expected plan life of ten years. The process for this plan started in June of 2024, which involved hiring MSA Professional Services to assist in its preparation. Since then, the city has opened a community survey, held an open house, formulated the plan, and have now released the plan.

Also at the meeting there will be an oath of office administered to Firefighter Mitchell Brodsack, mayoral readings of EMS Week and Public Works Week proclamations, a public hearing held and possible action on a FY25 budget amendment, and the meeting will close with approval of eight facade improvement grant applications. Tonight’s Knoxville City Council meeting will be held at 6:15 pm at city hall.
