
The Indianola City Council will hold the second reading of several ordinances at their meeting Monday. That includes the repealing of Chapter 32 of the Code of Ordinances related to the Indianola Wellness Center Board of Trustees, as well as amendments to rules regarding urban chickens, as well as sidewalk, zoning, and subdivision regulations in the city limits. The council will also consider resolutions to approve a payment and change order for the Buxton Traffic Signal Project, a professional services agreement with HR Green for the Iowa Avenue Sanitary Sewer Project, and a Home Base Iowa Initiative Application. In public business, the Indianola City Council will consider an ordinance amendment to recreational burning rules, a public hearing for a Fiscal Year 2025 budget amendment, vacation of easements at Emerald Bay Plats 1 and 2, and hold discussion regarding employee vacancies in the Wellness Center Department and Indianola Police Department. The study session that follows the regular meeting includes city manager goals and discussion about fuel storage tanks. The Indianola City Council meeting begins at 6 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at 110 North 1st Street.
