Today is the final day of classes for the 200-plus seniors at Newton High School. Newton Superintendent Tom Messenger says 212 seniors started the school year in August, and the class had 205 students heading into this month. Graduation for the Class of 2025 at Newton High School will be this Sunday at 3 p.m. in Maytag Park. The event will be moved to Newton High School’s upper gym if there is rain. The Newton School District will also hold a  graduation ceremony on Friday for 28students from West Academy, which is the school district’s alternative high school. Tickets are required to attend the 2 p.m. ceremony in the Newton DMACC Campus auditorium.
