The Norwalk baseball team lost a pair of games at Waukee on Saturday, falling to 0-3 on the season. The Warriors were defeated by Waukee 13-0 in five innings to start the day, then lost to Lewis Central 12-0 in the afternoon.

With four games on the schedule this week, Norwalk coach Chad Wiedmann tells KNIA Sports that the team needs to reset. The Warriors open Little Hawkeye Conference play on Wednesday night, hosting Newton for a varsity doubleheader at 5:00 p.m.

Softball starts tonight

The Norwalk softball team opens their season tonight, hosting Interstate 35 at 7:15. The Warriors finished 30-8 overall last summer, capped by their third consecutive trip to the State Softball Tournament in Fort Dodge. They finished in the top six of Class 4A. Interstate 35 went 19-16 last season. Norwalk is scheduled to play five home games this week.
