
The PCM softball team defeated Grand View Christian on the road Friday night in a Heart of Iowa Conference matchup as the baseball team came up short.
The Mustang softball team was trailing in the top of the seventh inning but exploded for nine runs to pick up the 11-4 win. Addi Hudnut had a bases loaded shot to the right field fence to gain the lead. Libby Winters went 2-5 with a triple and RBI, Tori Lindsay had a double to put the Mustangs up by four in the seventh, and Kyra Naeva went 2-3 with two RBI. Rylee Parsons was the winning pitcher throwing seven innings giving up four hits, three earned runs, and recorded four strikeouts. The Mustang softball team improves to 4-0 on the season.
The Mustang baseball team fell to the Thunder 11-1. PCM had a tough fifth inning defensively giving up six runs as the game fell out of reach. Coach Brent Fridley said his team hit the ball hard all night but only picked up one hit. Alex Wendt went 1-2 in the game with a triple and Jensson Hood had an RBI. The PCM baseball team falls to 1-3 on the season.
The PCM baseball and softball teams will be back in action on Monday against Nevada as the softball team will play at home and the baseball team will play at Principal Park in Des Moines.
