tractor-ride-2

One of Iowa’s annual traditions gets underway in Newton tomorrow. WHO Radio’s 28th Annual Great Iowa Tractor Ride will be held at Iowa Speedway, and in and around Newton through Wednesday, June 18th. The three day event is held every June and draws up to 500 tractors of all makes and models from across Iowa and other states. The event’s website shows about 40 Jasper County residents have signed up to participate. Riders sign in tomorrow, while the ride itself is Monday through Wednesday. Each day, the tractors and their drivers will travel different scenic routes through Jasper and neighboring counties. Newton Mayor Evelyn George says there will also be a parade of tractors going to the Farmer’s Market Tuesday at the Legacy Plaza Greenspace.

Mayor George, Iowa Speedway President Eric Peterson, and Iowa Speedway Director of Operations Tyler Clement were at the 2025 WHO Radio Great Tractor Ride host city announcement at the Machine Shed Restaurant in Urbandale January 31st. Last year’s tractor ride was held in Boone at the Boone County Fairgrounds.
