The second annual Monroe Classic Madness Car Show was held Saturday on the town square.
The event by Chasing Cars brought out a large crowd and a sizable lineup of 129 classic cars from several different decades. The event also included food trucks, music and announcements from the KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio, door prizes, and the car show awards ceremony with trophy presentations. All proceeds from this event will go toward The Gathering Place in Monroe. Chase Spencer is one of the organizers for the event and he encourages everyone, especially younger people to get involved in the classic car industry.
“Bring what you got. I think there is a bigger desire from people I’ve talked to in the car industry that we need younger people involved and I absolutely agree with that, so bring what you got. There is a lot of stigma around how nice your car can be to bring but I think if it has four wheels and it runs and drives, bring it. I think anybody and everyone is welcome and it’s our job as a car community to foster that.”
Also at the event, over $1,200 was raised for a Washington DC trip for PCM students.
