The Knoxville Federated Garden Club is holding a “Sitting Pretty” gardening contest on June 28th.

This event will be held at Brooks Park and is open to gardeners of all ages with no registration fee. Guidelines for the contest include any chair planted with live flowers, no dried, artificial or silks with limited accessories. The seat of the chair may be removed and planted or the planted container may sit on the chair and plants must be identified on a 3×5 card. Chairs will be judged on a pleasing combination of plants, creativity, and overall appearance. 

Cash prizes will be awarded with first place winning $100, second place winning $50, and third place taking home $25. Entries will be accepted on Saturday, June 28th from 8:00 am – 9:00 am and will remain on display until Noon. The judging will take place from 9:30 am – 10:00 am.
