This week is National Mosquito Control Awareness Week, an annual public health campaign held during the third week of June highlighting the importance of mosquito control to protect communities from mosquito‑borne diseases. Warren County Health Services wants to remind residents about the possible dangers mosquitos can bring to the community, and ways to help prevent mosquitoes and mosquito bites in Iowa include draining any standing water to help eliminate breeding grounds, dress in light-colored, long sleeves and pants when outdoors, and use an EPA-approved insect repellent.
