What could have been a perfect evening on Panther Drive, ended up chasing everyone away due to weather. The Knoxville Baseball Squad got just one game in of its double header with Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont in a 4-0 win as the game was called after five innings when the rain started and softball was just in the 4th inning of its suspended game with Knoxville leading the Rockets 3-2. In the single baseball game played, Roston McCarty was dialed in as he controlled the Rockets allowing just four hits and striking out three and walking none. Lincoln Norris started the scoring in the 3rd inning with a solo shot to center field to give Knoxville a 1-0 lead. The Panthers would add three more runs in the 5th. McCarty was also good at the plate going 3/3 with an RBI to help his cause. Norris was 2/3 also with an RBI. Knoxville is now 13-7 and 8-3 in the South Central Conference. Both the baseball game and softball game’s resumption will be announced at a late date. Panther baseball heads to Grinnell tonight while softball will host Chariton.
