The Twin Cedars baseball squad defeated Moulton-Udell in a rescheduled class 1A District opener 12-4 while softball’s season ended at the hands of Moravia 5-2. An eight run 4th was enough for the Sabers to pull away and rap out 15 hits on the night. Jax Mockenhaupt went 4/4 with an RBI and Holden Roberts continued his torrid pace going 3/3 with two driven in. Reed McElroy got the win going six innings scattering seven hits, walking just one and striking out eight. The Sabers are now 12-11 on the season. Meanwhile, The Twin Cedars Softball Squad fell to Moravia 5-2 in the 1st round of the Class 1A Regional on Monday. The Sabers had the tying run at the plate in the 7th but could not get the runs home. The Mohawks would score two in the 1st and the Sabers would get one of their own in the top of the 2nd with a single by Ami Mockenhaupt and scored on a base hit by Jordyn Greatbach. Moravia would score three in the bottom of the 4th to extend its lead to 5-1. Twin Cedars would score again in the 6th on a single by Ashtyn Fee and an RBI double by Cristen Durian. Twin Cedars ends the season at 4-21 and says goodbye to four seniors: Alli Reed, Cristen Durian, Ami Mockenhaupt, and Jayden Weldon.
