It was a dominating Monday night for the Pella summer teams as the regular season winds down, with the #2 in 3A Dutch baseball team earning a pair of senior night wins over Washington 11-1 and 10-0, while the softball team earned an 8-0 win in Perry.

At home, the “Dutch Dozen” of twelve seniors were celebrated between a pair of six inning games that featured the entire varsity roster and all members of the Class of ’25 playing. Game one was highlighted by Hayes Lautenbach and a 3-for-3 performance at the plate. Game two featured power, including Lincoln Kocour’s first-ever varsity home run and a round-tripper for Lake Cowman. Both Nathan Vande Lune and Nathan Carey earned pitching wins on the mound.

The softball girls had a balanced offensive attack with 13 total hits, led by a 3-for-3 performance from Elizabeth Thomas, and two hits each from Abby Melvin, Lucy Carlson, and Emma Eekhoff, who also struck out nine batters in six innings inside the pitching circle.

Pella’s baseball team is up to 23-6 and finishes the regular season Wednesday at home against Bondurant-Farrar. The Dutch softball team is up to 18-12 and welcomes Saydel to town for the regular season finale this evening. The game can be heard on 92.1 KRLS and watched on Pella Dutch Live.
