pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville softball team fell to Exira-EHK-Audubon at home in the opening round of Class 2A Region 1 play Wednesday night.

The Trojans fell to the Spartans 4-1 as their season came to an end. In the seventh inning Pleasantville had bases loaded with no outs and were not able to get a hit to push a run across. Coach Alee Phillips said her team’s defense played well and the Spartans were just able to get base hits they needed. Phillips added that Exira’s pitcher threw one of the hardest they’ve seen all season with a great rise ball.

Offensively the Trojans had eight hits as a team with Faith Nelson going 3-3 at the plate and Ella Clark going 2-4. The lone run of the game was scored by Harper McGraw. Lainey Kennedy pitched all seven innings giving up four earned runs and had one strikeout. Pleasantville ends their season with an 18-9 overall record.
