The Pleasantville baseball team will host Grand View Christian tonight in a Class 2A Substate 6 semifinals matchup.

The #2 ranked Trojans are 28-1 on the season and coming off an 11-1 win over PCM on Tuesday night as the Thunder are 16-11 overall and coming off substate wins over Pella Christian and Mid-Prairie. Pleasantville and Grand View Christian played each other earlier in the season with the Trojans winning that game 4-2. Pleasantville head coach Luke Adreon says that despite all his team’s success this season, they continue to try and just win the day.

“We just kind of have taken the mantra of this year to win today, play today’s game, practice today’s practice, and if we win today the other stuff will kind of take care of itself and that has been our mantra all year.”

Tonight’s game in Pleasantville will start at 7:00 pm and the winner will face either Anamosa or Dike-New Hartford with a trip to the state tournament on the line.
