The Marion County Road Department is featured on this weekend’s In Touch with South Central Iowa.
Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian discusses the current road department project, upcoming projects, and ways the community can be safe on county roads as the corn continues to get higher. Christian also talks about the only project that has gone on this year so far being a seal coat project along with an update on the Dollar Bridge demolition and construction. Christian reminds citizens of the county to proceed to all county road intersections with caution, especially in a time of year where visibility might be limited.
“Things are growing fairly rapidly now so right of way and road widths on most of the secondary road system are much narrower than state highways and we only have a handful of mowers out there so we’re doing our best to keep up. In any regard use caution when approaching the intersections and always proceed to the intersection and through the intersection with the expectation that the other person on the crossing street is not going to stop”
In Touch on KNIA/KRLS airs Saturday and Sundays and is posted online at kniakrls.com.
