The Pella Christian softball team saw their season come to a close earlier this week, and two seniors will depart the program after excellent careers on Eagle Lane.

The Eagles graduate Faith Kacmarynski and Addison Bandstra, who were each five year members of the Eagles softball program and were also a part of the team’s most recent State Tournament run in 2021. Faith started in 145 of the 148 softball games she played during her five years at Pella Christian, and recorded a career batting average .331 while adding 28 doubles, five home runs, 78 RBIs, and 63 runs scored. Addison started in 76 games and played in 81 during her softball career on Eagle Lane, and posted a career .201 batting average with five doubles, two homers, 18 RBIs, and 18 runs scored. Faith and Addison have both seen good times and struggles throughout their time playing softball at Pella Christian, and head coach Mindi Kacmarynski says that they have been great leaders regardless of the circumstances.

“They have stuck through some of the ups and downs of PC softball. Both of them are outstanding leaders in different ways. Addison brings so much energy and positivity vocally and Faith is your quiet leader, who knows the game and is calling out and just giving the whole team confidence because she is there, and she has led that way through her confidence and her knowledge of the game.”

The two seniors led Pella Christian to a 13-17 record this season and a trip to the Class 2A Region 2 championship game.
