With varying degrees of experience entering their final baseball season on Eagle Lane, four seniors depart the Pella Christian baseball team this summer.

Eliot Menninga and Connor Van Zee were both five year varsity players for the Eagles baseball program, while Grant Kelderman played four years of varsity baseball and Josiah Vink was on the varsity squad for two years. During their time on the baseball diamond at Pella Christian, the Eagles qualified for the State Tournament for the first time since 1994 during the 2023 season. In their careers at Pella Christian, the four seniors posted a combined .230 batting average, while also recording 36 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 151 RBIs, and 96 runs scored. Eliot said that one of the things that made his time with the Eagles baseball team special was the friendships he has made over the past five years.

“Building those lifelong relationships with the guys, I’ve played on this team for five years now and every single year I’ve made great relationships with a lot of people. We’re in a hard conference and it’s about handling adversity with those guys, with your brothers, and it’s been a lot of fun.”

The four seniors led Pella Christian to an 8-23 overall record and a 2-15 record in the Little Hawkeye Conference this year.
