A Des Moines man arrested for stealing a vehicle from a home south of Newton has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. 39-year-old Terry Lee Wilfawn pleaded guilty to 2nd degree burglary, a class C felony. On April 4th of this year, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department says there is surveillance video showing Wilfawn stealing a 2024 Ford Bronco from a garage on South 29th Avenue East. The vehicle was later recovered in Indianola. Judge Brad McCall imposed the prison term on Wilfawn, and ordered that it run simultaneously with a 20-year sentence the Des Moines man received in Warren County for 1st degree theft, a class C felony, and class D felony charges of eluding and 2nd degree criminal mischief.
