The Martensdale-St. Mary’s baseball team begins their state tournament run this afternoon taking on rival Kee. The Blue Devils qualified to state with a record of 30-5, and feature one of the most potent star-powered lineups in class 1A. Head coach Jon Fitzpatrick tells KNIA Sports the squad will rely on their deep pitching staff led by Travis White on the mound who sports a 0.69 ERA on the season, and looks for Trey Wight to have a stellar tournament, as he comes in with a .548 batting average and more doubles than singles on the season. The game in Carroll begins 1:30pm.
