The final weekly show at the Knoxville Raceway before Southern Iowa Sprint Week starts did not disappoint, as Rico Abreu won the 410 show and Tasker Phillips dominated the 360 A-Main and in the process clinched the 360 points title at Knoxville. Both winners were the best and fastest cars in the feature races as Phillips would jump out to a commanding lead with the only things slowing him down were three yellow flag periods. But after each restart he would run away and hide. Phillips told KNIA/KRLS Sports that while he likes the points title where consistency matters, he comes in wanting to win each week.

Phillips: “Look at our heat races from the third row up to second a lot. We didn’t slack by any means, and our crew deserves it, but we’re here to win.”

The 410 A was mostly like the 360s, however Abreu had to fend off Brian Brown initially. After a few laps, he started to pull away and even increased his lead in lapped traffic. Brown cut the lead only slightly by the end of the race but Abreu was too much. Most of the drivers that raced on Saturday will come back either Thursday or Friday for their qualifying night of the 360 Knoxville Nationals that starts Southern Iowa Sprint Week.
