The Marion County Conservation Department will be holding an evening canoe paddle event tonight.

It will be held from 6:00-7:30 pm at Roberts Creek. This event is an easy paddle that is suitable for all experience levels. Each canoe will have two participants, all of whom  will be required to wear a life jacket. The event is open to anyone 12 years of age and older. Marion County Naturalist Karen Johlas-Szalkowski says this event is aimed to be a quiet evening float.

“We’re gearing it toward 12 and older and you don’t have to have any experience to canoe. We’re just going to go out at Roberts Creek where it’s pretty calm and have a nice evening float.”

The event is free, but registration is required by using the link here.
