THRIVE Knoxville will be holding a fall community planting day on Saturday, September 13th.
This is a continuation of the Knoxville Gateway Project, which is a beautification initiative at the south entrance into town on Highway 14 between the Highway 92 on/off ramps and Bell Ave. THRIVE also held a community planting day on May 31st, where 20+ volunteers gathered to plant 50 trees and 185 perennials. This project has seen financial contributions from the City of Knoxville, Living Roadway Trust Fund, Marion County Community Foundation, and the Knoxville Community Foundation.
The fall planting day will start at 9:00 am and volunteers are asked to meet in the former Knoxville Vet Clinic parking lot. Volunteers are also asked to bring gloves, gardening tools, and wear closed toe shoes.
