Some of the best marching bands in central Iowa are converging at Pella High School this Saturday for the 16th annual Marching Dutch Invitational.

Twenty-one bands will compete in three classes, with smaller schools performing from 4 to 5:45 p.m., including PCM at 5:00, Class 3A performing between 6:15 and 8:15 p.m., including Knoxville at 7:00, and Class 4A schools from 8:30 to 10 p.m., including Newton at 9:30 p.m.

The Pella Marching Dutch will close the evening in exhibition at 10 p.m. before the awards ceremony.

Tickets cost $10 and children preschool age and younger get in free.
