
The Iowa Nite Hawks will play their first game at Ken Locke Stadium tonight.
The Nite Hawks are an amateur football team based out of Newton who will be playing their fall home games at Ken Locke. Today’s game will be against the Omaha Outlaws and will start at 5:00 pm with the gates opening at 4:00 pm. Founded in 1974 by Iowa Barnstormers founders Jim Foster and Jim Williams, the Nite Hawks have a history of success on and off the field that spans 50 years. The team, which is comprised of athletes from Central Iowa, will play their fall season in the Midwest Developmental Football League (MWDFL), which includes teams from Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska.
Fall home game schedule:
- Sept. 27 vs. Omaha Outlaws
- Oct. 11 vs. Midwest Typhoons
- Oct. 18 vs Kansas City Bulldogs
- Gates open at 4 p.m.; Kickoff at 5 p.m.
- Ken Locke Stadium, Knoxville, IA
- Purchase tickets at the gate. Cash only.
Adults (12+) – $10
Kids (4-11) – $5
Kids (0-3) – FREE
Concessions (pizza, pop, beer, seltzers, candy, popcorn, and more) will be sold during the games. Proceeds from admissions to the events will support the Iowa Nite Hawks and the Knoxville Alumni Association’s initiative to construct a community venue and continue the restoration and enhancements to Knoxville’s Ken Locke Stadium.
