
The Knoxville High School Hall of Fame will induct another class in December. The 2026 class includes Howard Elliott from the class of 1969. Elliott was a standout basketball player for the Panthers and averaged over 21 points per game as a senior, leading the Panthers to a conference title and earning All-State honors. Heidi Higginbotham from the class of 1993 was a volleyball and multi sport standout. Higginbotham earned All-State in volleyball helping the Panthers to the state semi-finals. Coach Joel Johnson had a legendary career at Knoxville, winning over 500 baseball games, leading Knoxville to 13 state tournaments, 13 conference titles and the 2002 Class 3A State title. The 1987 Boys State Track and Field State runners-up was coached by Mike Cunningham and followed up their conference title with the runner-up at State. The induction ceremonies will be December 12th in between the boys and girls basketball games against Chariton.
