The Newton Volleyball team travels to Liberty Center today to play in a triangular at Southeast Warren High School. It’s the Cardinals’ second and third matches in three days, after they lost at home to Class 4A #4 Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday in straight sets. Newton will play a 15-13 Gilbert team that has lost seven of their last nine matches, including a three-set defeat at home to Ballard on Tuesday. The Cardinals will also take on the host school in Southeast Warren. The Warhawks are 35-5 overall on the season, with three of those losses coming to Pella, Pella Christian, and PCM, teams that have defeated Newton during the season. The Cardinals are 10-13, and will end the regular season with today’s matches. The triangular at Southeast Warren begins at 5:30 p.m.
