A new 30’ by 60’ steel building for athletic and field maintenance equipment is up at H.A. Lynn Stadium. The building materials were purchased from Menards for $24,571, and the school district’s Building and Grounds staff under the direction of Supervisor Jack Suttek built the equipment shed.
“It’s 90% done. It’s a black and red building, Cardinal colors. It’s going to provide a lot more storage than what we had out there before.”
Suttek says the doors still have to be added to the building, which is located north of the locker room. The concrete floor was put down by Jerry Keenan Concrete of Newton. According to Suttek, the storage building cost about $63,000. If a contractor had built it, he believes the cost would have been over $80,000 plus the concrete slab. Suttek also worked with coaches to design the inside of the building and determine what type of shelving and cages will be used.
