The Knoxville Volleyball Squad’s road to Coralville will begin at home in the first round of the class 4A regional tonight against Carlisle. The two teams met early in the season in Knoxville’s second match of the season with the Panthers winning in three games in a triangular. The Wildcats have struggled to a 5-23 record this season due to heavy graduation losses from last year’s team that qualified for the State Tournament. Coming into tonight’s match Carlisle has lost its last eight matches, but Panthers Coach Mollie Keitges cautions class four-A is never an easy road to travel.
Keitges: “It’s still going to be fun to get them back here as they ended our season last year. Then you’re in the top 16 and it never gets easy after that, and I think the girls are excited to take on that challenge.”
First serve is set for 7:00, a win by Knoxville will send the Panthers to Pella on Thursday.
