The Norwalk volleyball team swept Bondurant-Farrar in the Class 4A Region 5 Semifinal in three sets on Thursday (25-17, 25-17, 25-16). With that win, they advance to the Region 5 Finals to play Ballard.

Bondurant-Farrar didn’t give the Warriors an easy sweep, keeping the deficit between two and three points for most of each set. Still, the Warriors were able to serve receive and execute their offensive system to finish out the sets. Norwalk head coach John Fulton tells KNIA Sports he anticipated a scrappy matchup.

When you get to the last 16 teams, you know, everybody’s going to be a great competitor. They’re here for a reason. They’ve won their first round game for a reason. So we knew they’re going to be scrappy. They show up scrappy on film. But, we knew that if we can serve receive, then we’ve got a lot of weapons that we can feed. So I thought we serve received fantastic all night when we get to kind of those end game situations and we can feed our hitters on a perfect pass, we’re a tough team to beat.”

The awaiting Ballard Bombers hold a 26-10 record and defeated Nevada in their respective semifinal match three sets to one.

Norwalk’s regional final vs. Ballard is scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. and will be played at Norwalk’s NPECC. The winner will advance to the state tournament, which begins on November 3rd.
