The 8th-seeded Indianola volleyball team got off to a fast start in the class 5A quarterfinal round against #1 Waukee Northwest, but ultimately fell 3-0 as heard live on 94.3 KNIA.
The Indians jumped out to an early lead in the first set against the Wolves, taking advantage of good serves to lead 13-6, but after a timeout the Wolves settled down and went on a 19-4 run to win the first set 25-17. The second set saw the Wolves with a lead nearly the entire set, winning 25-16, then the third set was much of the same with the Indians unable to keep up with the Waukee Northwest firepower.
Head coach Jana McGraw said she was proud of the fight her team showed all the way to the very end, and made things tough for what in her opinion is one of the best teams in the country.
The Indians end the season with a 27-17 record, and graduate just two seniors.
