While snow knocked out one long trip east for the Pella basketball teams outside of conference competition this past weekend, the Dutch will make another to the north and west as they head to Gilbert this evening.

In the opener of a varsity doubleheader, the Dutch will try to get a winning streak started before winter break after dropping a tough matchup at #5 Carlisle last Thursday. Pella’s girls knocked off Gilbert 58-54 in 2024. Junior Callie Hales leads the 4-2 Tigers with 14.3 points per game.

Pella’s boys will try to stay undefeated following a 4-0 start to the 2025-26 winter. The Dutch defeated the Tigers last year 79-72. Gilbert is paced by Preston Stensland and his 18.5 points per contest.
