The Melcher-Dallas Girls basketball Squad must say good bye to two seniors this season. Madisyn DeJong, who was a starter and a player that came off the bench Mykaylah Gentry. DeJong was thrust into a different role this season as point guard and averaged 5.6 points per game while leading the team with 35 assists and 45 steals. Gentry was a bench player that did not get as much playing time but Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports, the players will be missed for their presence and leadership.
Goff: “Her hustle and her ability to pass, she was averaging 2 assists per game which was huge for us and just her leadership. Mykaylah Gentry was our other senior and she didn’t get as much playing time, but she showed up to every practice and did everything Larry and I asked of her.”
Melcher-Dallas went 7-12 this season.
