The Knoxville City Council approved the Fiscal Year 27 budget at their meeting Monday.
Over the course of several meetings the council heard budget presentations from each city department and then at the last meeting they were shown a budget overview presentation. On Monday, the council held a public hearing and approved officially adopting the budget. Also at the meeting, there were mayoral readings of a National Volunteer Week and National Library Week proclamation, a public hearing and approval of directing the sale of lots in the VA District, and approval of the final plat for the Red Rocks Station subdivision. The meeting closed with Knoxville Parks and Recreation Director Brandon Nemmers giving an update on the Veterans District ballfield project which included renderings of the complex.
