Many local businesses and organizations participated in Knoxville High School Career Day on Wednesday.
The event held at Knoxville High School was a way for every student to attend four different sessions, which were held by representatives from local businesses and organizations. The students filled out a form and were able to attend sessions that were of interest to them. KNIA/KRLS participated in the career day, and Knoxville High School Career Readiness Coordinator Tyler Pearson says this is an event to give students a real-life look at what they might want to do in their career.
“The kids get exposed to a variety of different career paths, some that they know about and some that they want to learn more about. For me, the purpose of this day is to sign up for sessions they want to attend and kind of explore and learn more about that career, and if it is a good fit for them, or also valuable is if it’s not good for them, so they’re not going to take classes going toward that, and they might choose a different career path.”
The career day had 35 different presenters.
