The Knoxville Public Library is partnering with the Marion County Extension Office for a growing tomatoes program tonight.

This is the second of five free seed programs with the extension office, with tonight’s program highlighting transplanting, trellising, and plant care. The first program was held on April 6th, where attendees discussed planting their tomato seeds. The three remaining programs after tonight will be on June 1st, July 6th, and August 3rd, highlighting different aspects of the tomato growing process. All programs start at 6:00 pm. Adult Services Librarian Cari Meissner says this session is still open to the public, even if they didn’t plant seeds at the first session.

“Last month we met and we planted our seeds but this month we are getting together again to talk about transplanting and all sorts of plant care as your seeds keep growing. Even if you didn’t plant seeds with us feel free to come on over and sit in on the program that Lydia is going to be teaching us about.”

The library is located at 213 E Montgomery St. For more information, contact the Marion County Extension office.
