WeLift Job Search Center is hosting a “Linking Families and Teens” workshop next month to hold mature conversations for teens who want to connect and talk with adults about sexual health and other sensitive topics. The workshop will feature group conversation, in an attempt to strengthen bonds and discussions to help navigate through difficult conversations. WeLift Job Search Center Executive Director Sue Wilson says there will be professionals brought in to help guide the attendees.
“We’re excited for this event. We are bringing in experts to do it. Eyes Open Iowa is the non-profit we are bringing in to facilitate all of this, and we are just really partnering with them. We are providing the space. Hopefully our community will really jump on this opportunity, because family connections and the power of it being positive can stretch through our teenagers’ entire life. This includes physical health, mental health, their engagement, their volunteerism, their service and absolutely every aspect of their life.”
The event is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th from 10am-4pm. Learn more about “Linking Families and Teens” on tomorrow’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
