The City of Knoxville has provided an update on the 2026 Street Improvement Project.

The city does an annual street improvements project with streets that are outlined in their pavement management study. The streets included in the 2026 project are East Competine, West Marion, South Roche, and West Grandview. The council received five bids for the project and approved the bid from TK Concrete for just over $690,000 in February. From the city’s most recent update, Marion Street is nearing completion, signage has been transitioned from Grandview, tear out will begin on Grandview near Gebhardt Street moving west with the north lane being first, and one lane of traffic will be open at all times.

Stay tuned to KNIA/KRLS for updates on the project.
