The four-way stop at Washington Street and West Third will
be replaced with stoplights later this year. The Pella
City Council awarded a construction contract for the
project to Voltmar Inc. of Decorah at their meeting
Tuesday. According to city officials, the total estimated
cost of the project is expected to be about $137,000 with
much of that covered through federal funds and a state
grant. The new stoplights could be installed late summer
or early fall.
