This Sunday is Flag Day, a commemoration of the adoption of the U.S. flag in 1777. But Knoxville resident and World War II veteran Charles Walter says its also a time for reflection on the sacrifices service men and women have given in past wars. Walter became a prisoner of war after his plane was shot down in Europe. He says when he was liberated by General Pattons army in Moosburg, Germany, he still remembers seeing the German swastika flag being taken down, and an American solider raising American flag smuggled from Nuremburg on the flagpole.
