The Melcher-Dallas girls and boys basketball teams each gave themselves a chance to earn a Bluegrass Conference victory last night, but ultimately each came up short in 51-42 and 56-50 losses, respectively, at Lamoni.
The Melcher-Dallas girls never could claw their way back from an early deficit in their nine-point loss to the Warriors, and were led by Delaney Jensen’s 12 points. The Saints are now 5-7 overall.
The boys’ contest was much closer, with Melcher-Dallas trailing by just two points at the half, but the Saints could not gain enough momentum to take the lead and ultimately suffered a six-point loss.
Kenneth Wadle and Ross Dawson again led the way for the Melcher-Dallas boys, scoring 19 and 18 points, respectively.
