The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department saw increased revenues in a number of areas during the just concluded 2025-2026 Fiscal year. Sheriff Brad Shutts presented his fiscal year report for July 1st, 2025, to June 30th, 2026, to the county board of supervisors earlier this week.
“Boarding prisoners was up about $292,000 from last year. Our weapons permits were up about $11,740 from last year. Prisoners’ phone use was up $7,100. Our medical reimbursements were up $11,000. Our concealed weapons permits to the state, we collected about $2,900 more this year. So our numbers have gone up, they are good numbers.”
Those final totals for the fiscal year were $845,000 for the board and care of prisoners, $24,500 for Concealed Weapon Permits, $33,300 for prisoners’ phone use, $17,700 for inmate medical reimbursement, and $6,100 for concealed weapons permits to the state.
