Knoxville Area Community Theatre (KACT) is bringing the high-energy musical comedy 9 to 5 to the Knoxville Performing Arts Center.
Performances will be held at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center on Thursday, November 5; Friday, November 6; and Saturday, November 7, at 7:00 p.m. The final performance will be Sunday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m. Reserved seats are $15 and can be purchased online at kact50138.seatyourself.biz. If seats remain available, cash-only tickets will be sold at the door.
Based on the hit 1980 film, 9 to 5 follows three coworkers who find themselves dealing with a demanding and unfair boss while navigating the challenges, frustrations and friendships of the workplace. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton, the show combines plenty of laughs with memorable music and a story about friendship, standing up for yourself and making a change.
The production is directed by Jackie Duffy, with Kamron Warden serving as Music Director.
As a way to give back to the community, K-ACT will also have a donation jar benefiting the Marion County chapter of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library available at performances. Audience members will have the opportunity to make a voluntary donation to support the program, which provides free books to young children.
