maddie-chambers-daisy-award

Pella Regional Health Center has announced that Maddie Chambers, RN, in the Family Birthing Center is the recipient of their quarterly DAISY award. The DAISY program is a national award, given at the local level, to registered nurses who exemplify extraordinary nursing. The focus is on the special touches and human consideration these nurses give to their patients.

Nomination by patient, Juliana Schemm:

“Maddie was an incredible nurse whose compassion made a lasting impact on my family during one of the most vulnerable moments of our lives. I went into labor early with a breech baby, and what began as a scheduled C-section quickly became an emergency. We first met Maddie in triage, where her calm, reassuring presence immediately brought comfort during a very stressful time. She continued caring for our baby in the operating room and during vital checks with exceptional attentiveness and skill. What stood out most, however, was the way Maddie cared for me as a new mom. Her compassion, dedication, and genuine support made an unforgettable difference in our experience.”

Chambers received a certificate that reads: “In deep appreciation of all you do, who you are, and the incredibly meaningful difference you make in the lives of so many people.” She was also given a sculpture called A Healer’s Touch, hand-carved by artists of the Shona Tribe in Africa.
