Marion County Conservation Department campgrounds are now open for the season.
This includes the campgrounds at Marion County Park and Robert’s Creek Park East and West. Making reservations in advance ensures that a specific spot will be available upon arrival. Effective now, Marion County Conservation campgrounds also have moved from a one-year advance reservation policy to a six-month reservation window. Reservations may be made up to six months from the current date, with a maximum stay of 14 days after that date. Existing reservations made more than six months in advance will remain unchanged. This policy applies to campsites only and does not include cabins or shelter houses.
According to the conservation department, this update is designed to make booking more convenient from home, improve access to high-demand dates, and better align with nearby State and Federal parks by helping create a smoother, more enjoyable camping experience. County Conservation Director Cale Edwards says there are certain times of year that get reserved right away.
“Always your holidays go first and then obviously Knoxville Nationals, our parks are full for that too. Holiday weekends always go pretty early and with this new change now people will be able to make their reservations all online or if they’re driving through a campground on a nice day and they see an open site they can just walk up and scan it to see real time information so it should be a lot better for the user all around.”
