Marion County Public Health wants citizens to be aware of sunscreen tips to prevent skin cancer.
According to public health, to prevent skin cancer, sunscreen should be worn every day, used enough to cover all exposed skin, and applied 20 minutes prior to sun exposure. According to the American Cancer Society, sunscreen should be a minimum of 30 SPF and not expired, and should be reapplied every two hours. When using sunscreen, a whole palm full should be applied, and SPF lip balm should also be used.
