The Newton Police have filed a class B felony burglary charge against a Newton man for an alleged physical altercation at a South 13th Avenue East apartment complex last Tuesday, June 30th. Officers claim 21-year-old Blake Michael Foster was in an apartment and hit a woman in the face, leaving a small cut. He also allegedly struck a man in the head as well, before that victim fled to another apartment as Foster chased him.

When Newton Police arrested Foster, officers say he possessed a vape that contained marijuana. He’s charged with 1st degree burglary, and two serious misdemeanors for assault causing bodily injury or mental illness and 1st offense possession of marijuana. District Court Judge Elisabeth Reynoldson has set Foster’s arraignment for July 13th.
