The Norwalk baseball team ended their conference season Friday splitting a home doubleheader with Dallas Center-Grimes, losing game one 13-5 and winning game two in five innings 11-1.
The first game of Friday’s doubleheader was resumed from a postponed rainout earlier this month, as it started with one out in the bottom of the second inning with the Mustangs up 9-0. Warrior senior Kale Wadle started on the mound to inherit the deficit. Though Norwalk scored one more run than DCG after the resume, they ultimately lost game one 13-5.
Game two was completely the opposite, as the Warriors began with a four-run first inning and a six-run second inning, unanswered. Three defensive errors would not derail Norwalk, as eleven runs on nine hits would earn them the nightcap victory in the fifth inning, with the Mustangs only scoring one.
The Warriors return to action on Tuesday with a home doubleheader against Des Moines Roosevelt. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.
