Boys and Girls Track and Field at Drake Relays
The Norwalk boys and girls track and field teams are competing at the Drake Relays this week. Events begin today and run through Saturday at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Recaps can be found in separate stories at kniakrls.com, as well as frequent updates and results.
Girls Golf at Oskaloosa
The Norwalk girls golf team travels to Oskaloosa today to compete in the Oskaloosa Girls Invitational.
The Warriors have had a very successful start to their 2026 campaign as they have won their last three meets and have placed in the top two in their last four meets. Junior Evelyn Kinney has led the way for Norwalk, already winning three meets this season individually and placing in the top three in her last four meets. Kinney will be featured on Today’s Lely Radio Sports Page. Norwalk currently leads in the Little Hawkeye Conference standings. This morning’s first tee is scheduled for 10 a.m. at Edmundson Golf Course.
Boys Tennis at Pella
The Norwalk boys tennis team travels to Pella today to take on the Dutch.
The Warriors are currently 2-2 so far this season, while Pella is currently 0-3. Senior Wyatt Coburn has spent the most time in Norwalk’s #1 singles spot, earning three wins in that position this season. Sophomore Isaac Lors, Coburn’s usual doubles partner, is following close behind in singles with three wins at the #2 spot. This is the Warriors’ second of three competitions this week as they will travel to Ankeny tomorrow morning for the Dennis Hoefle Boys Invitational. First serve in Pella today is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. at Caldwell Park.
Home Soccer Doubleheader Against Ames
Both Norwalk soccer teams will host Ames in a girl/boy doubleheader this evening.
The #2 in Class 2A Warrior girls remain undefeated in their 2026 season, going 5-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play, most recently defeating #10 in 2A Pella, 3-0. Today they face the #13 in 3A Little Cyclones, who are currently undefeated at 4-0-1. Norwalk has been led in scoring by senior Pearl Brown, who has six goals on the season, while Ames is led by sophomore Natalie Westort with five. The Cyclones lead the series between these two teams 9-4, dating back to 2012.
The 4-3 Warrior boys team is coming off a 6-0 victory over Pella on Tuesday, as they prepare to take on 3-1-3 Ames this evening. Norwalk has been led in scoring by senior Eli Scavo, who has seven goals this year, two of which came in Tuesday’s win over the Dutch. The visiting Cyclones’ scoring leader is senior Matthias Roettger with five goals. Ames leads the overall series 12-2 over the Warriors dating back to 2011.
The kick-off of today’s girls game is set for 5:45 p.m. in Warrior Stadium, with the boys to follow.
